aniBoom recently announced it would be delaying announcing the 10 In Rainbows Video Contest Semi-Finalists. Why?

10. Al Gore wants a recount.

9. The editorial committee fell down a well. Aniboom lowered a walkie-talkie down and asked for their selection, but all we heard was their attempt to resuscitate the MySpace guy.

8. Due to an undisclosed member of an undisclosed band, we can not disclose the semi-finalists.

7. The judges refuse to give us their choices. They say they’re still waiting on their bribes.

6. The Judges were traveling together in a yellow bus on their way to a picnic when the bus suddenly veered off the road and drove into a ditch. Last we heard they were waiting for a rescue crew while discussing the semi-finals.

5. God spoke to us last night and added an 11th commandment: “Thou Shalt Review All Submissions Again and Shall Only Announce the Semi-Finalists On Tuesday” We are currently in negotiations with God.

4. Due to the rising cost of food, we have been unable to provide the editorial committee with lunch, and they have gone on strike.

3. The editorial committee attended a yoga retreat and got stuck in the downward facing dog position.

2. Bon Jovi has been added as a last minute judge but due to his advanced age, he needs to be taught to use the computer.

And the NUMBER ONE REASON the Semi-Finalists have not been announced:

1.The US Senate has passed a bill that due to Homeland Security regulations, the semi-finalists must be reviewed by a special committee selected by the CIA, FBI and McDonalds.

We tried to stay away…we really did…but the letters kept pouring in, begging the yellow turtles to come back. Here are some excerpts from actual letters received at the aniBoom mansion: “Can’t go on without my weekly Drivel fix….” “Life will feel so empty and meaningless without you guys….” “I’m going on a homicidal rampage fueled by my despair….” “Shaniqua, please have my babies so I can have a part of you with me always….” Yes, there was no way we could stop writing if it was going to have that kind of effect on other people. (We do have a conscience after all! *cough cough No we don’t. cough * ) And so we will put aside our own personal interests in having more time to mess around on Facebook, in the interest of the public good. We love you dear readers, with all of our blackened souls (except for the part we reserve out of contractual obligation to Satan). Thanks for your support! (donations welcome, especially chocolate brownies.)

Yes, I am sorry to say that we, the worker bees of the aniBoom mansion, have decided to take a rest from blogging. Even yellow turtles need a rest. Perhaps we’ll be back someday - even potentially next week…so in the meantime, now that you won’t be filling your time reading our animated drivel, perhaps you could take up needlepoint like you’ve always said you would, or start that stamp collection. I am writing to inform everyone that the unofficial prize for the Radiohead contest will NOT be a date with BraveIdan. My fellow Yellow Turtle and partner in Kube has left aniBoom never to be seen again at the mansion of edgy animation and yummy apple pie. Where he has gone, nobody knows. Some say he was spotted in Kalamazoo, Michigan, having lunch with Elvis. Others say he eloped to Alaska with his long time love, BigFoot. And there are those who say he’s simply retired to Florida with his grandma and James Botz. We will always wonder what happened to BraveIdan and his shoddily implanted dog-knees…and miss him. So good luck, BraveIdan, wherever you may be…. I dedicate my favorite animation on aniBoom to you. (Come See the Duck)

I know this post is not Radiohead Contest related, and I’m sorry for that…I’m ashamed to admit that I am not allowed to listen to them at all - doctors orders…every time I am exposed to a Radiohead song I will immediately develop a rash that grows from within the eardrums and can reach into the brain and may spread to my private parts…its pretty serious.
Anyways - lunch lady has been working here (at Aniboom - the home of animation and the best apple pie) for over a year now, ordering lunch for EVERYBODY…and doing it with great talent and devotion. I would like to reach out my metaphorical hand to our lovable crazy lunch lady, and say (as the Americans say), “thanks!” or “thanks A bunch!” or “heck! thank ya’! yeeeHaaaaaaaa”

Is our specialty here at aniBoom, the home of animation, and so that is why I must take this opportunity to hit a fellow employee while he is down. Recently BraveIdan informed me of his new gym routine. Yes, seriously…Ok… come on…stop laughing…I know the very idea of BraveIdan entering a gym sounds absurd, but it’s not THAT crazy…Ok…so after coming home from his first day at the gym in many moons, his neck began to tighten up. Before he knew what hit him, his head had become stuck in one position and soon he found himself in an emergency hospital with a needle shoved in his arse. And so having acquired that much coveted excuse note from his physician, the lazy bum has not showed up to work all week. He sits at home with his white neck brace on (sort of like those big lamp shades they put on dogs, no?) And now here’s an entertaining animation about wanting bigger muscles.

My my the last couple of weeks have been ever so busy. There was the fancy dress holiday (my tear-away pants got snagged on my union jack thong and basically the party went downhill from there); Guinness Day sponsored by St. Patrick (woke up to find a tiny lump next to me in the bed. Little buckle shoes sticking out - very happy to find it was just a Leprachaun) and of course the launch of the aniBoom RadioHead InRainbows contest!!! Is it any wonder its been a while since my last post.

As some sort of half baked animator I have been giving a little thought to submitting an animated music video effort of my very own. I like to massively over think this sort of thing and spend 80% of the time researching, so that the remaining 20% does not leave me enough time to do any ideas justice and I have a foolproof excuse for producing something shit.

However I have frittered away most of this weeks aimless internet perusal on some fascinatingly fantastical conspiracy theories about RadioHead’s album releases. Just a coincidence? Or did Radiohead predict 9/11? You decide…

Alternatively you could just enjoy this video from a chap who appears to have jumped the gun and made a very nice ‘radioheady’ video before the competition even started…
